Management Strategy

Basing our business activities on management principles of the SBI Sumishin Net Bank Group, we seek to create innovative business models, bring greater convenience, and steadily manage our business and organization.

SBI Sumishin Net Bank has grown with high customer satisfaction by developing advanced technologies. We intend to achieve growth by maintaining our competitive edge.

In our digital banking business, we will continue to increase non-interest income by growing mortgage loans, our main product, mainly through bank agency channels, and by offering foreign currency deposits and robo-advisory services that are tailored to life-stage changes of the customer base.

In addition, we will increase transaction volumes and fees related to settlements including those for debit cards by improving user Interface (UI) based on the development of cashless settlement and user experience (UX). Also, we seek to increase outstanding balances in the transaction lending service, in addition to fee income, by accelerating the opening of corporate accounts.

In our BaaS (Banking as a Service) business, we intend to achieve account fee growth by increasing dedicated branch accounts of our partner companies by promoting the acquisition of active accounts with an awareness of revenue per account rather than blindly trying to increase the number of accounts, while boosting the recognition of the business and exploring new business partners. Furthermore, we seek to add partner companies and expand the business rapidly by concentrating resources such as human resources, system investment costs.

Furthermore, we intend to establish a business model that differs from traditional banks by utilizing the fruits of BaaS business initiatives: a “win-win-win” structure between accountholders, partner companies and us, and our customer settlement data and data from partner companies and other sources. As one of these measures, we established a new subsidiary, THEMIX Data, Inc., which operates an advertisement distribution businessthat utilizes identification data on the premise that customers consent to the use of their own personal information, and launched an advertising business that leverages its data platform. We are also in the early stages of considering an initiative aimed at creating a new business involving supply chain optimization for the primary sector.

While maintaining the growth of account acquisitions in the digital banking business, we will work toward expanding the number of partner companies and increasing the number of accounts that comes along with it in the BaaS business. At the same time, we will aim for expanding earnings and achieve further growth as the Group total.
